With the recent termination of his YouTube account and the leak of his mini-album, Jay Park seems to prove his worth and the amount of support he has been receiving from his worldwide fanbase.
MANILA, Philippines — Korean rapper and b-boy Jay Park officially released his first mini-album “Take A Deeper Look” midnight Tuesday and it quickly entered the Top 10 on Korean real-time music charts.
With it, Jay also released the official music video for “Abandoned (feat. Dok2)”, the album’s carrier track.
The singer’s worldwide fan base patiently waited for the release of the seven-track album, which, according to Jay’s official website, is his comeback “as a more mature musician.” Jay wrote the lyrics of all seven songs in the album, and composed six of the tracks.
Songs in the album are currently charting on music download sites in South Korea. Fans can also purchase the songs on iTunes.
On Bugs, “Abandoned (feat. Dok2)” zoomed to the No. 1 spot with “Tonight (feat. Kan Min Yung of Davichi),” “Touch the Sky (feat. The Quiett),” “Don’t Let Go” and “Level 1000 (with Dok2)” also in the Top 10.
“Abandoned” also became No. 1 on real-time chart Hanteo and Naver, and No. 2 on Soribada.
Among the artists who helped Jay in his latest outing are his Filipino-American friends who had a hand in making the album and music video. Fil-Am Cha Cha Malone composed “Bestie” while he and Jay composed “Abandoned,” “Can’t Live Without You” and “Don’t Let Go.
Another Fil-Am, Andrew Baterina, was the overall choreographer for the music video. Baterina was also the chief choreographer for “Demon,” the official soundtrack of the movie “Hype Nation.”
Rapper and producer Dok2, who is part Korean, Spanish and Filipino, composed “Level 1000.”
