SBS’ drama “Giant” held tightly onto its spot at No. 1 on Monday and Tuesday nights, while MBC’s series “Dong Yi – Jewel in the Crown” finished its run in second place.
Data from TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Wednesday reported that “Giant” was the most-watched show in the primetime lineup, scoring ratings of 27.4 percent on October 11 and 23.9 percent the night after.
Numbers released by AGB Nielsen Media Research too revealed that the SBS show brought in high marks with viewership ratings of 27.9 percent on Monday night and 24 percent on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the 60-part historical epic “Dong Yi – Jewel in the Crown” ended its run on October 12 with average ratings of 23.6 percent on TNmS’ poll, while posting ratings of 24.4 percent on Monday and 24.3 percent on the final episode.
“Dong Yi,” starring Korean actors Han Hyo-joo and Ji Jin-hee, posted steady ratings in the mid-20 percent range during its run which started March 22 and breached the 30 percent mark several times.
The second season of “Queen of Housewives,” starring Kim Nam-joo and Jung Jun-ho, will premiere on MBC next week.
KBS’ “SungKyunKwan Scandal” placed at No. 3 with ratings in the ten to 12 percent range.
